Our Story
The Southern Shores Civic Association is a nonprofit, member-supported organization dedicated to maintaining community amenities, stewarding natural resources, and fostering connections among neighbors.
Membership dues and volunteer efforts help support the beach accesses, parks, marinas, recreational facilities, trails, and community spaces that make Southern Shores such a special place to live and visit.
Whether you are a year-round resident, second-home owner, or eligible long-term renter, your membership helps preserve and enhance the community for current and future generations.

Joining the SSCA is a great way to meet your neighbors and enjoy all of the Southern Shores amenities in our slice of paradise on the Outer Banks. The SSCA dates back to 1975 and is not an HOA. Membership in the Civic Association is voluntary and your dues ensure the continued upkeep of our Southern Shores facilities. All community amenities are funded and maintained by the SSCA not the Town of Southern Shores, keeping your property taxes low.
The Southern Shores Civic Association is all about community, recreation and relaxation, not rules and regulations. We would love to have you join us!
